Wollongong council still considering community consultation forum
Posted Wed Mar 26, 2008 11:13am AEDT
The three administrators now running Wollongong City Council with the general manager have held out the hope of genuine consultation at their first public meeting.
Wollongong’s 12 elected councillors and the lord mayor were sacked in line with a recommendation from the Independent Commission Against Corruption, on March 3.
The meeting without councillors last night was brief, with discussion of most items lasting a minute or two.
Administrator Robert McGregor says they are still considering a proposal to hold a public forum on community consultation.
“That was a resolution I believe happened in one of the last meetings of the former council and as I said we have not discounted that we may consider that,” he said.
